INL, BLM officials discuss wildfire issues
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho -
Local fire management officers are preparing for an above average fire season this year.
Wildfires have a huge impact on lands across the Gem State every year. Over the last 10 years, wildfires have burned more than 790,000 acres in southeast Idaho.
A small fire that prompted an evacuation at the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project facility Friday was out around 8:45 p.m.
According to an Idaho National Laboratory news release, the fire was about 50 miles west of Idaho Falls. All employees were evacuated from building 676. Everyone was accounted for.
